 is a goal.  As I see it, being able to use verified claims from government-issued identities in contexts where they add value for the person is a complimentary capability to using consumer identities in contexts where they add value for the person.  One synergy
 is that production deployments of both will require trust frameworks.</span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:11.0pt;color:#002060">While the early prototypes (which were shown at IIW) use WS-Federation and WS-Trust, I know that the team wants to also enable the use of OpenID/OAuth protocols. 
 In fact, they may be an early customer of the specification work we do in our working groups to enable some of the 6 scenarios that the board endorsed as being in scope for OpenID at our December 2nd meeting.</span></p>
