Mike, I was wondering if you had any insight into this effort at Microsoft?
It seems to be headed in a different direction than the one we were pursuing
with the OIX and reusing consumer-IDP identities in government contexts...?
Just trying to get my head around this! Thanks!

"The next step on the horizon is a multi-state, government and commerce
combined proof of concept/pilot initiative. Microsoft has commissioned a
diverse team of experts, including identity product team members, privacy
professionals, and government customer-facing field team personnel to help
facilitate a comprehensive online identity pilot project. Those of us on
that team understand the importance of open standards and multivendor
involvement, and we’ve been working with other vendors in this initiative.
Likewise, we recognize that this type of project is a non-starter unless it
simultaneously addresses citizens’ needs for privacy and convenience, as
well as government costs savings and efficiency."
